The Screening Phase for Incoming Surrogates

Jenn Wimberly

Updated: Oct 6, 2022

You might be wondering what medical screening you would have to do to become a surrogate. The process is much simpler than you may think.

You will need to schedule a time to see the fertility doctor that your IP’s are working with for medical screening. You will have blood work, urine screening and an ultrasound performed to determine your health and receive medical clearance. Once you are seen, it takes approximately 10-14 days to hear from the clinic on your blood test results. We will be in contact with you to make these arrangements.

Next, you will schedule an appointment with a psychologist for an evaluation. The report will be sent to the agency once completed. If all goes well with both the medical and psychological screening, the next exciting phase will begin!
